What's the best method for preventing rust on an outdoor pull up bar?

The bars a usually galvanized or zinc plated and wont rust. Galvanising lasts 30 years and wont rust, same coating a coin has.

If the frame is powder coated then you will be fine until you start chipping it. So if it gets beaten up it will rust sooner.

A nice coat of primer and a nice coat of Rustoleum.

A can of "Plastic-coat".

Check with the manufacturer about keeping it outdoors. Some coatings used on gym equipment won't hold up to exterior exposure and will oxidize / break down pretty fast. I would hose the frame down with a silicone spray lube and set it off the ground on flat concrete patio pavers. The silicone will repel dust and moisture plus can be used around the house, vehicles, etc. When you notice dust starting to stick then wash it off and reapply the spray, including on the bottom. The pull-up bar can be protected with a section of foam rubber pipe insulation. Those come with a slit so will be easy to slip on and off.

Use a chromed or stainless bar. It'll last longer than you will.

stainless steel. rust proof and shiny

wax or polish. then wear gloves when in use

I am considering buying a new pull up and dip tower...but I don't have the indoor space, so I am planning on putting it outside. The area is thinly covered by shade from trees. I live in Florida, so it's hot, humid, and we have frequent showers.

I don't really care about how "beat up" the tower gets... I just don't want rust to build up and then the tower cracks whilst I'm working out.

What's the best rust prevention method for me? Is there some kind of spray or paint? Or am I better off buying a tarp, and covering it when it's not in use?

Thanks
