Bmw forgot to get oil changed in 8000 miles?

If you make a habit of this, you'll cause the engine to need major overhaul much sooner than usual but you aren't very far past the normal change. Be sure the engine's up to temp when it gets changed, and be sure quality oil and filter are installed. Nothing to get upset about, but your car deserves timely maintenance.

Usually when the oil is changed, the filter gets changed too. Most modern engines have an interval of 7500 miles or more. Did the "oil service" light kick on in your BMW?

good expensive oil lasts longer. cheap oil must be changed sooner.

what was in it? you should, nowadays, always change the filter.

mobil one is what i run in the mercedes, and run cheap stuff in the chevy. the toyo uses castrol because its a screamer, and the kia uses the cheap synthetic

That model car should have a "change engine oil" light on it. Check the users manual. If the light does not come on do not change the oil. Make sure the oil is full to the full line though by checking it once in a while.

newer cars go at least 7500 miles between oil changes.

look in your owners manual to tell you when to change it.

and you change the oil filter also.

When you get oil change, oil filter gets changed too.

Tell the technician to use synthetic oil.

How bad is this? :'( I'm getting it changed today but I'm really concerned!!!!! What does it mean when people say change oil and oil filter? Do I need to get oil filter changed too? Will my car be okay? It's a 06 bmw 325i thanks so much!
