Will a bad egr valve cause you to have oil pressure problems (check oil light)?

Why would a vacuum leak affect oil pressure? Oil pressure is set with the oil pump, bearing clearances, engine temp, etc. Vacuum leak affects fueling.

Low/poor idle will reflect with low oil pressure too but that is based on engine RPM.

I figured it out. It's a rebuild, the piston rings need time to break in, the whole engine in general. I need to switch to a thicker oil. I removed the spark plugs and saw just a little bit of oil on piston 1, so it is not ready to be driven to fast. I will just let the car on for 1 hour each day, then gradually drive it slowly and then faster later on. That was the smoke, it was oil burning. But now it's gone. The high revving was caused by a leak in the egr valve. I need a new gasket that goes between the egr valve and the throttle body.

No, but will contribute to idle issues. Low oil pressure is caused by a low oil level, excessive bearing clearances, or a faulty oil pump/pickup. Pull oil sending unit, and install oil pressure gauge. New should be 20-30 psi @ idle, up to 60+ at revs.Rule of thumb, 10 psi for every 1000 RPM.

no

I have been having problems with my car accelerating on its own and a lot of smoke coming out of the tail pipe. I have been troubleshooting, and came to the conclusion that I need a new gasket that goes where the egr valve and the throttle body connect. Will this leak have cause me to lose oil pressure as well? I have a 2004 Chevy Aveo 1.6L engine. I have just rebuilt the engine and everything is ok, except I had that problem and figured that that was causing my car to idle high. Ok, so please let me know if this causes the oil pressure problems. I have oil in the engine, so I was also thinking it might have been a sensor. I will replace the egr valve gasket and then I will see if that check oil light goes away and I will give an update on that. Please let me know.
