Is 144,000 miles a lot on a car?

it's a 2006 audi for around 5k, it's my first car and it seems like its in pretty good condition

Which model of Audi? Things to make sure before you buy! The most important being the timing belt and water pump! When were they last changed! Get proof of paper to confirm not just being told.

Normally these cars timing belt needs to be changed between 75k miles and 90k miles or five years whichever comes first!

144k on the meter means from the next 6k the timing belt and the water pump will be needing attention from you. Not to mention they are pricy too. Expect to use another $2000 to get them changed. Or if they are already taken care of then you will not need to worry. 2006 Audi ? For 5k is not bad at all. If it's well taken care of you got yourself a good deal except they are headache to keep them on the road! Very expensive to fix them should a problem arise. Cheers. Success

Audi can go a long time. Just be prepared to spend about $1,500 - $2,000 per year in unexpected repairs. Everything on Audi costs a LOT more.

not if it was well taken care of. 5k might be a little steep thou

No, 144,000 is not a lot of miles on a 2006 vehicle, especially an Audi. Audi makes very good cars, and if properly maintained, you could go as far 250-300K.

$5000 for which Audi; A4, A6, A8, Quattro, Quattro TT?

For 5k yeah that is a bit expensive.

Yes my 2007 cadi has 70 000 and we drive our kids everywhere
