My engine oil is low but my car is hot, can I add engine oil in car without burning my self?

Use the rag you wiped the dipstick off with to take the oil fill cap off.ask for a funnel at the auto store you get the oil from. They even have paper funnels for free. If you meant the motor is at operating temperature it's not a problem. If you mean your motor is HOT as in overheating it's a coolant problem. I've seen many motors out of oil and not be HOT.

If you are not going to drive it, let it sit & cool. But, make sure you add it before you drive next. Sit the oil can on the floor in front of the driver's seat so you don't forget...

Just use a rag if you must to twist open and then remove the oil fill cap. such caps are often plastic and don't usually heat up much.

radiator caps are and must be metal and can get VERY hot; and there can be hot fluid under pressure behind them . Use CAUTION when dealing with the cooling system.

Should be safe as the oil filler cap is the only thing you need to touch. It's not pressurised like the radiator, which you shouldn't open when the engine is hot.

It will be fine to add oil with the car hot, people do it all the time.

Only when the engine is off on level ground so the oil lever will be read correctly after adding oil immediately.

Wear some gloves

how do you know its low if its hot? you cant get a correct reading if its hot. wait til its cool then check it

lube shops do it all day long. just be cautious and you should be fine.

Not if you use a funnel as you always should.

My car needs engine oil but I been driving the car for almost 40 min and I want to add engine oil but I don't know if while I try to add engine oil while the car is hot I would actually burn my self ?

yes you can
