A series circuit has a R=470ohms, L=5mH, C=0.5uF. how to calculate the source current. Vs is not given. how?

If this is a DC circuit it's 0 since the cap will only charge and not pass DC until it's discharged. The inductor will act as a short.

If it's AC you're missing some values for voltage and frequency.

With the given parameters, in the absence of frequency and voltage it will not be possible to calculate the impedance & the source current. Both of them are essential.

Measure the Voltage (Vr) across the 470 Ohm resistor.

Source current = Vr/470 Ohms

Hope this helped.

With no voltage, you cannot calculate the current. You also need the frequency.
