Sure, if you lost the wheel weight it would certainly cause your wheel to now be out of balance. However, it sounds like you may have a more serious issue if your front tires are wearing quickly. Your front shocks and/or struts could be severely worn causing your tires to wear prematurely.

the balance weight won't make a tyre thump...getting bald tyres is a worry we have an issue.have we had tracking checked ..? dampers any good? worn ball joints?

yes, your tire is unbalanced. Go to whoever installed the tire. Those should not come off and they should rebalance your tire for free

I just recently changed a tire on my car , my two front tires were COMPLETELY bald , so i changed the right one ( it blew out ) the weighter on the right tire came off (cant find it) so i just got a new tire put on the right , when im driving it makes kind of a bump or a thud while im driving , could this be because there is no weighter on the wheel and all the other ones have it?
