This simple circuit can be use to convert the audio signal in to DC Voltage
mainly used in sound switch or audio Meter or in Animatronics application
for motion playback.
Connect a speaker to a full wave bridge rectifier, the AC inputs. Connect a 0.1 uf capacitor to the rectifier DC +/- outputs. Place a DC voltmeter on the output.
If you rectify it with a bridge rectifier, A DC voltmeter will then give you the average voltage.
Just connect a diode across the input to your multimeter. Or switch it to AC millivolts if it is a decent multimeter, the AC to DC conversion is performed inside the meter.
