How many hours of labor to replace the engine mounts on a 98 Toyota Camry V6?

There are two engine mounts and one transmission mount. The labor guide shows 3 hrs for the two engine mounts and 1 for the transmission.

Two Genuine Toyota engine mounts retail for about $400. So your mechanic is a bit on the high side.

Please only respond if you have specific knowledge about this model car and engine? If you think qualified mechanics spend time on this website, your are beyond young and naive. Since apparently you know a few mechanics, may I ask this? If I were to say 8 hours a $75 each hour plus parts and supplies would that hold water with any mechanic in your area? To ask for guesses or estimates is a complete waste of time. You can only deal with mechanics in the flesh that have shops in your town. Agreed? Do you even know what is the work that needs to be done?

Watch the video. They are not at all hard, and are only about $50 each. Labor less then an hour apiece. So total should not be over $450. You should be able to get them done for about $250. It is not a tight engine compartment at all.

I was told by a mechanic that all of the engine mounts are broken and should be replaced. How many hours of labor should that amount to? He did give me a quote for the total price of labor, but he didn't break it down into hourly rate x # of hours. Altogether I was quoted almost $1,000 for the work and I am wondering if I could get this cheaper at another reasonably qualified mechanic.

Please only respond if you have specific knowledge about this model car and engine. (Another mechanic a while ago said that the toyota camry frame is almost too small for the V6 engine, so everything is crammed together super tight and that's why repairs take longer than one would expect.)
