Blood stains on a carpet are NOT normal wear and tear. The entire carpet will have to be replaced as the dyes differ from roll to roll. Unless some of the original roll was saved for repairs, it will look like a cheap patch job.
They will have to pro-rate the cost of the carpet though. Take the number of years the carpet was expected to last, divide the cost of replacement by that number of years, and deduct the two years depreciation.
Just use hydrogen peroxide full strength on a cotton ball, it will work better than that oxiclean
Try oxy clean.
if they charge you for a new carpet, call some carpet cleaners to do it for fairly cheap
It would be absurd to change the carpet over a blood stain, since they are so easily removed.
1. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of cold water. If the stain has dried, brush it well to remove the surface deposit.
2. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
3. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the stain disappears or is no longer absorbed into the cloth.
5. If the stain remains, mix one tablespoon of ammonia (Caution: Never mix chlorine bleach and ammonia - the resulting fumes are hazardous) with 1/2 cup of warm water.
6. Sponge the stain with the ammonia solution.
7. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
8. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.
As an addendum to motorhead's suggestion, 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide. with the soap and water. Homemade oxyclean.
Carpet is two years old. I have a $400 cat deposit and a $250 human deposit. I'm moving out. Are they going to charge me to buy a new carpet? Pink stain is an inch in diameter.
