Why won't my car won't start after putting in gas?

The battery is no good or the piece connecting to the battery needs replacement

Did you run the tank dry, like run out of gas.

If it is completely empty, it takes a few seconds or minutes before the gas reaches the engine.

Your fuel pump may be starting to show some issues.

Fuel pump? Check to see if you can hear the fuel pump start up when you turn the key to the on position. If you hear it and it does not start it is not your problem.

Battery? You did not say how it was not starting, meaning did it crank or not crank? Maybe the alternator is bad and your battery is low? Most National Auto stores can check your charging system.

If it cranks hard and you hear the pump start up I would check to see if you have spark. Pull one plug and plug it back into the wire and hold it against a ground with something nonconductive to see if it sparks when the engine is cranked.

oh no :( good luck

I have a 2007 civic, 80,000 miles, about a year old battery. Yesterday after I filled up the gas tank my car wouldn't start. Waited about 1 minute and it started fine. This had happened about 4 months ago (I had it checked at Honda) and they said it was okay. But today I went a short distance (15 minutes from home left the car for about 5) and my car didn't want to start. What could it be?
