What motor oil is great for high mileage engine?

Don't use lucas you'll wear out the seals faster with that goo, even if it may leak slower in the short run. Get the thickest oil suggested in the owner's manual though to slow it down without causing so much damage. Instead, get your friggin' leak fixed. If it happens when the car is off then it's an external leak which is plenty fixable. High mileage might help slightly too but it won't fix your friggin' broken part. Go to a mechanic.

I would get an oil specifically engineered for hi mile cars. Get something like Valvoline Max Life, they have additives to help keep seals and gaskets from failing. Straight synthetic is awesome, but will not help seals and gaskets that are already failing.

just get yourself a regular oil made for high mileage cars..no synthetics, purples, etc. mobile sells one and a few others. you can get it at wal-mart.

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic oil for mine. It's a good brand name oil and never gave my car any problems. Royal Purple is also good. You can't go wrong with either. I drive a Nissan Altima 2002 3.5 se if that matters. It is currently at 145,000 miles

BIG TIMBER IS BIGTIME RIGHT!

If you think it leaks bad now, wait until you put pure synthetic oil in it.

I have a 2000 civic with about 191000 miles on it , I was planning on getting royal purple for it but I wondering if that's good for it also I've just added Lucas oil stop leak cause it was leaking a little oil everytime we turned the car off
