I want a motor that outputs slow, linear movement?

You can buy a linear RC servo, and control its motion back and forth with an Arduino micro controller.

A solenoid.

A stepper running a piston with connecting rod.

Transfer fluid from one side of a piston to the other.

Stepper motor driving a threaded rod.

No motor can run back and fort at the same time by itself. It is the gear box makes it slow .

I need something that outputs slow, linear movement, back and forth, like a saw, but slow.

Most motors outputs rotary movement and is too fast for my application.

Is servo my only option?
