I put diesel in my gasoline engine now it wont turn over to start what should I do?

The only thing you can do is take it to a mechanic and pay them a rather decent sum to fix it. Diesel in a gasoline engine is a BIG no-no. If you don't run it too much, there won't be permanent damage. What you can do on your own (if the car is still running) is completely siphon the tank and then fill it with regular gas. It will smoke and run rough for a while, but eventually the diesel will work itself out. If you continue to drive it with diesel in it, you will gum up and ruin just about everything in the fuel system, including the fuel injectors, which will need to be replaced.

What do you mean by " it wont turn over " ?. That means the starter is not turning the Eng.

But anyway, all you have to do is syphon or drain the diesel out and fill it with gas.

If there is still a little diesel in the tank ,it is no big deal.

Just compleatly fill the gas tank to delute it.

People make that mistake all the time.

I did it myself one time.

at the pump the diesel pump has a larger nozzle so that can't happen unless you were filling the tank with a gas jug or can the nozzle won't fit in the smaller hole of a gasoline tank

Better start draining the tank, blow out the fuel lines. Change the fuel filter, get all the diesel out. If you dont know how to do all that stuff, take it to a shop. They will tow it for you.

You should "suck" out the diesel and refill it with gasoline. There will likely be some diesel in the fuel system that will make your exhaust black like a belching semi once you get it running. Getting it towed to a shop might be the safest & smartest thing you could do.

First you need to get all of the diesel fuel out of your gas tank, and refill it with fresh gas. Then you need to bleed your fuel lines, and replace the spark plugs. That usually does the trick. I just hope it didn't foul the injectors. Those are expensive. I do not recommend doing this yourself, as it is not only very complicated, but may also be dangerous!

siphon out all the diesel. And fill it with gas. Get new spark plugs. Hopefully there wasnt much damage but it could be bad.

why did you put diesel in it?

complete drain and remove plugs and turn over for sometime
