Cigarette burn hole in car seat!?

Hole. Whole. You best reach for a dictionary and learn the differences. As to the upholstery repair. Car dealerships DO NOT DO such repairs. They send that work and also body work to other shops in the area. Shops that deal with dealerships are way more expensive than otherwise. The assertion that the dealership is a warranty as to work is false. Any upholstery shop can repair any seat, any material, any brand and any car IF they can get the material from their suppliers. I doubt the $50 is a true repair cost.

The finance company always has an interest in the car's condition until it's paid off.

You really don't have much choice here. It's a brand new car. You caused the damage. You have to pay whatever it costs to put it back into the shape it was in before you damaged it.

Man up and take full responsibility without the whining.

You were already told the cost is $320. Don't smoke in other people's cars if you do not want to be responsible for damage.

Of course it must be replaced properly since it's a new car.......not a patch job. Do you have any car upholstery shops nearby, rather than having the dealer do it?

Same happened to my car - "friend" dropped a cigarette........I ordered new seat "skin" from dealership who did not actually do interior work.......so took it to upholstery. shop who installed the skin, but told me that if I had come to them first, they would not have charged full retail price for the seat skin.......would have been about $150 letting them order the part.

I suggest you be a bit more aware of your surroundings and actions (since you still don't know if the seats are cloth "or whatever") instead or worrying about your hair extensions and fingernails (as per other fascinating questions - - their new $30,000 car is probably as important to your friend as your press-on nails are to you).

That sounds cheap for a new seat, Im thinking more around $450.00 If that is the quote, feel lucky. Dont smoke in someone eles car.

$320 is actually not bad for a whole new seat. Is that with installation?

no magic here, pay up and don't make that mistake again.

Your home-owners insurance should pay all but the deductible.

dont smoke

I am not looking for a repair kit! I accidently burned a hole in a friends car seat and they demand I pay to fix it. They called their car dealership and they said it's about $320 to fix because they don't do patches. They would have to replace the hole seat. I do not have that kind of money, especially for a cigarette burn! The car is a 2014 dodge avenger. The seats aren't leather so I'm assuming cloth or whatever, I don't know. Anyone know how much it would cost?
