How to control an RC vehicle from far away?

You need to see it to be able to fly it, the camera is not enough.

You would have to have a higher powered transmitter at a different frequency which would require a license and completely different equipment inside the craft. You would have to raise the antenna high enough to keep line of sight transmission (or fly higher)

If you are getting any information back from the plane, you would have to increase the battery power of the plane, install more powerful transmitters, and install a receiving antenna higher up to preserve line of sight reception.

And you had better install tracking equipment in some form so that when it goes down (as it eventually will) you can find your expensive toy.

On the other hand, you might explore the new generation of devices with automation and GPS that if they lose the RC signal they fly back to their starting position on their own.

You must be using a 27Mhz transmitter. You need to move up to a 2.4 Ghz or better. They have a long enough range that the plane will be out of sight long before the transmitter runs out of puff.

A quick, easy way is to add aluminum foil to the antenna of the remote control. It should increase the range a few 10s of meters...

Can someone answer my questions? It's very urgent.

I have an RC airplane and I attached a camera to it. I want to be able to fly it around my small town but it can only go so far. How do I make it go farther? Would I need a longer antenna or what?
