I own a 2001 integra and I've spent 1,400 on parts only doing the job myself, but basically it all depends how expensive are the parts and the transmission itself, but if you want to drive manual it is worth every cent. If you need to pay to someone to do the job then you will spent no less than 2,000
Sell your current truck and buy one with the equipment you want. It will be far cheaper to do it this way!
It's not just the tranny that needs to be changed, but the computer systems, the interior parts and pieces, transfer case if it's 4x4, etc, etc, etc. Very tough job these days.
There are too many things that must be changed to make it financially worth doing. If you want a standard but one.
As much as buying an old 2003 truck. It makes no financial sense until your rolling in money.
I don't think it would be worth it because there too any things that need change especially today's computers and wiring.
find one with a standard already in it. you would basically need a complete parts truck from junkyard sitting in your driveway
Automatics are better. Plus they are easier to sell when you want to get rid of it.
