Do rubber air hoses for use with air compressors have to be oil resistant?

Hi, No. but most are because they are used in a automotive environment that is full of grease and oil.. The do how ever need to be a corded hose or high pursher hose

good luck

And then there are the people that run a "automatic oiler" inline to keep all their air tools lubricated. The hose is always oily "inside".

Not if you're using an oil less compressor.

No, but most are because most people use them with air tools set up to use cool, dry, lubricated air.

They also need to be reinforced multi-compound hoses to keep from blowing out. That's why you don't use anything but a hose made for compressors! I have a feeling you are about to cause yourself a bit of grief! When your make shift hose blows better hope it doesn't take your eyes out!

It's best if the hose is oil resistant. If oil spills on the hoses or the compressor happens to blow oil the hose will never be damaged!
