I had a kia forte. It was a 2010. It was great for me. I definitely recommend looking into the kia's. Very good value teenage car.
Once a VW hits around 80-100K miles, plan on spending $1,500-$2,000 per year in unexpected repairs.

My daughter turned 16, and I wanted to buy her an affordable, safe, and not too shabby car. However, how 'affordable' is the Jetta after some time and is it safe. I heard that Jetta's are expensive to repair, especially if you buy used. Just in case, the gas milage will be around 60,000-105,000. Is it worth it? Or am I better off buying her another fairly newish car? The price limit is $8,000 & I live in Florida.
