There are literally dozens of difference automobile components that could cause what you have described. Have it inspected by a certified mechanic.

My guess transmission or water pump.

Could be transmission,could be alternator, could be water pump

Is it the passenger?

Is the whine coming from one of the passengers, lol?

Any *good trusted private mechanic or dealer of the car can find the noise within 30 minutes.

Where's the noise coming from? Could be a number of things, possibly wheel bearing?
