What does the resistivity of a wire depend on?

A) None of these

B) Material

C) Length

D) Cross Section Area

If the asked, "What does the resistance of a wire depend on?" the correct answer would be all ot the above. However they did not ask about "resistance" instead "resistivity" which is a material property.

The correct answer:

B) Material

Other answer is totally wrong. Resistance depends on all those factors, but

resistivity depends only on material (B)

Absolutely all three matter!

Gold wire conducts better than anything, copper better than aluminum.

Length matters. Longer wire = more resistance

Cross section matters. How big the wire is affects overall resistance and the amount of current it can carry.

B. The best conductors are silver, copper, aluminum, brass and steel.

A) None of these

B) Material

C) Length

D) Cross Section Area
