Is it alright if the car's engine oil gets less after some time?

Many cars use a little oil between oil changes. As long as the oil level is above the minimum on the dipstick, you are fine. If the oil level gets near the minimum line, you should add 1/4 to 1/2 a quart to the engine.

Do not overfill either. Keep the level between the lines.

Letthe engine sit not going for 10 minutes and check it then, that will allow the oil that is around te motor to settle to the bottom of the sump, and give yiu a true reading. But still if it is between min And Max it will be OK. It is only if it is below min. And a car will run when oil is very low if yiu are on the flat, it is only has a lot more oil as it has to have enough for when it goes up hill, then the oil all goes to one end and not be able to suck up the oil pump tube.

It's fine as it is. All engines use oil, sometimes almost infinitesimally, and that's why the dipstick is there, together with a means to add oil. Personally, since you've bothered to check it, I'd top it up to the upper mark.

All car engines use some oil - ALL of them. The amount varies and with a relatively new car it could be that the oil never needs topping up between changes

Oil consuption of anything over 1 litre for a 1000 miles is considered excessive and could be down to engine wear and may result in the car failing emmisions testing in some countries.

We cannot see what country you are in by the way!

Yes totally normal. Some oil will slip through seals etc, leak a bit. Get burned, become thinner. If you ask me that's a healthy car. Keep at the oil changes and updates!

Premature engine wear happens when people refuse to use quality synthetic when the engine is new, therefore the insides wear out and consequently oil consumption is the result. I've use superior synthetic on my vehicles from new and the dip stick shows no oil consumption over the 200,000 kms driven.

You either have an oil leak or the engine is showing some high mileage wear.

Yes, it is normal for cars, mostly older ones to burn or use a little oil.

as long as the oil still reads in the cross hatched or safe area, yes. every engine will burn some oil.

the oil gets less when the engine

is old

So I checked the dipstick (I know soon I've to change the oil) and it indicates that oil is between minimum and maximum range... is it normal for a car? My car is working fine though.

Youre fine

If it is between the two lines you're okay.

NORMAL; Keep it full, and check it often !

how many miles per quart?
