How to create vacuum or pull out air out of a glass box?

Gary is right - a glass box will not survive even a poor vacuum. I would strongly recommend shopping around on eBay for a proper vacuum bell and pump. Sometimes old lab equipment goes cheap there.

It depends on how good a vacuum you need. Of course, if you do succeed in lowering the air pressure inside a glass box (particularly a cheap glass box), chances are very good that this glass box will implode, throwing shards of broken glass all around.

You should be able to do a little math. Say that, rather than a glass box, you have a steel box with a glass window. Say that window is 10" x 10" square. Say you succeed in pumping half the air out of that box (which is a very very poor vaccuum). Atmospheric pressure is about 15 lbs per square inch (psi). Your delta pressure is 7.5 psi. Times 100 square inches. Therefore, that window is experiencing a load of 750 lbs.

you can do a tiny hole on the top of the box.be sure there are no extra leakage.after doing that u need to give some heat to it ,thus all the air will come out from the box and will creat a vacuum into the box .At last u have to put a rubber cap on the hole.

You could use a common vacuum cleaner. Or put in a straw and suck out all the air. Or put a car or bicycle pump in reverse.

Of course this isn't going to give you a very good vacuum. You really need proper equipment.

without a vaccuum chamber, how do i pull out air from box a covered box to have a vacuum media inside the box? creating fire will definetely not do the trick. any ideas? i need cheap materials thanks.
