Do I need to take chemistry for mechanical engineering?

All engineering disciplines require at least one chemistry class and usually a lab.

I agree, physics is more important than chemistry unless you get a job that uses a lot of chemistry' You will need both as a prerequisite for some courses in all kinds of engineering, so take both physics and chemistry if you can manage that. About half of all the 1000 tasks in my career as an electronic technician, involved some chemistry. I see no reason why that would not be true of mechanical engineers. Cement is chemistry, alloys are chemistry, water is chemistry. Physics and mechanics are near useless it does something.

I am pretty sure that you wont need chemistry for mechanical Engineering. The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity.

If this was helpful please best answer it. Thank you

You will need to take chem 1 for pretty much all engineering majors. Paying extra attention to physics and math in school will benefit you for sure though.

I'm planning on dropping chemistry when I get into 4th year. I have physics and I think thats the subject which I will need for engineering science but I'm not sure if I should?
