When changing the power steering pump on a KA (54) can you use PTFE tape to seal the pressure line from pump?

I'd have to say no,

Sealing on these is a very small "O" ring on the very near end of the pipe,

ptfe is really for sealing thread to thread of the fittings.

If it's leaking past the thread, you have a missing or damaged O ring or damage where the parts seat. Don't rely on tape to stop it.

Hi it might work if it doesn't then you will most likely need a new pipe as the have a taper on the thread of pipe which removed the need for a sealant.

The fittings are pressure fit, and should not require PTFE (Teflon) tape or any other sealant.

O-rings sometimes require special grease to seal, but the power steering fluid should provide the lubricant.

From looking at this pic, it seems to have some white silicone hanging on the pump where the pressure line was.

Edit to add, that could be a white O ring now that Q mentioned it.

I have changed the power steering pump on a ford KA (54) and when removing the pressure line from the pump there was some kind of seal on it but I dont know what it was, so I was hopping that PTFE tape would do the same job at sealing the thread.

Any help please.
