What is dead space?

In physiology, dead space is the volume of air which is inhaled that does not take part in the gas exchange, either because it (1) remains in the conducting airways, or (2) reaches alveoli that are not perfused or poorly perfused.

I'd go for a volume in any container that is unusable for containing "stuff". For example, anything near the ceiling of a rental van or truck.

In radio transmission, "dead air" is the lag with no sound between the end of two program streams... music and news, music and commercial, music and announcer, or the inverse. A place where a commercial could / should have been playing, but due to inattention or technical difficulties it didn't.

Hello Jose,

As per my knowledge Dead Space is the volume of air which is inhaled that does not take part in the gas exchange, either because of the two reasons

(1) remains in the conducting airways

(2) reaches alveoli that are not perfused or poorly perfused.

The space between your ears.

Haha it's a game for ps3 and xbox and it's a really good one to.
