Should I buy a Used Car that needs a "Throttle Position Sensor"?

I'm purchasing a Used 2001 Kia Sportage and the seller states it needs a Throttle Position Sensor. Would it be too much of a hassle or an easy fix? Thanks!!

No and here's why. Simple to replace, two screws and one electrical connection, and about $40 for the part on line it might very likely not be the problem. There are many well meaning, and some nefarious sellers who will advise on a simple repair that is needed while actually having no basis in reality. Then the buyer is stuck with a broken car and the problem of figuring out how to repair it. The seller simply walks the cash over to the bank with out a care in the world. Tell him you'll pay for his recommended repair prior to purchase then watch how fast he backs out of the deal. Lars is dead on with his answer.

usually it's easy to replace that, 2 screws, but I don't know your car. On some cars you can't just replace that one sensor, you have to replace the whole throttle body and that is expensive.

Tell him if it needs one, he can install it. Then you'll buy the car.

no, big expense
