Thanks for replying. Yes, I know that they can't be directly replaced by NPN type. I've Googled also but didn't find a satisfactory answer. If I replace those by NPN pairs and just reverse the bias, will they act?
Google AC128/AC176, tons of places have it. Also, no you cannot swap a npn for a pnp, or vice versa. They operate differently and are biased differently.

Please tell me how can I replace AC128/AC176 PNP transistors by NPN variety? I've an old record player which uses these two in its amplifier. Unfortunately these are not working. I've searched a lot but could not arrange the same. Please tell me how to fix the problem. Plzzzzzz.
