if you clear Mains and have a rank within 1.5 lakh you are eligible to sit for Advanced. as per ur advanced marks u'll get admission to IIT's and the left over will go for NIT's but if you are not confident enough with advanced then it is advisable to go directly to NIT.because by the time you get your counselling,NIT's will be already filled up.hope this helps

You can opt for NIT's after JEE Main Results only if you are not confident of getting through the JEE Advanced Examination.
Of course. All those who have given JEE Mains and clear the eligibility criteria can for JEE Advanced. Even if the student is unable to clear JEE Advanced, he/she can still go for NITs. Make a note of counselling schedule and keep applying to other colleges.
