I have a 305 engine blocks and I put 350 heads on it so is it a 5.0 or 5.7 engine?

did I gain more power for putting 350 heads on a 305 engine block well It eat more gas or will it save gas

A 350 has bigger valves. If your engine can bolt up, that still will not change the displacement.

Bore x Bore x stroke x #of cylinders.

Your 5.0 could be a 307, but the numbers on the passenger side of the block at the front will identify what you are working on in most cases.

I cant see your engine from here but you may want to reverify what you have, and what you used, to be sure.

Then take your data and select a cam.

saving gas can be done this way but dont try too much power on the minimouse.

It would be best if it was not used hard, or expected to beat records anywhere.

I have one that does well, has enough power.

It runs sweet and gets good mileage and can tow an economy car effortlessly.

That was her design and she meets it.

You make your engine breathe better, and things become possible.

Engine builders want their work strong and powerful, but they always seem to say...fuel economy?

Lets start with something that makes good power and then

experiment with fuel delivery. after the thirsty girl is already

made.

It is only a 350 when it has the same bore and stroke as a 350,which is a 4.000" bore

3.48" stroke. You can bore the cylinders .030-.060 and it will raise ci a few points, but not enough to be a 350ci.You can take a 350 block, add a 3.75" crank and it becomes a 377ci or take a 350 block bored .030 over with the stock 3.48" crank and it becomes a 355ci.Take a 350 bored .030 over with a 3.75" stroke crank and it now becomes a 383 stroker.

You didn't change the cylinder displacement by changing the cylinder heads. Your 305 engine is still a 5.0 liter (actually 4998 cc) engine.

You can only install 350 cylinder heads on a 305 IF the intake valves are no bigger than 2.000 inches in diameter.

no change at all, now is 305 a 2 barrel carb and 350 a four barrel ? the will be better on fuel

Let me add that... You went the wrong way as far as performance is concerned. Putting heads from a larger engine on a smaller one will actually reduce compression ratio and therefore reduce performance.

Hi well one will not fit the other.
