I have a 2013 Honda CRV, should I use my mechanic to change the oil or is it ok to go to a Quick Lube for service?

You should do it yourself. You will be able to use really good oil, a good filter, and get to know your car a little. It is easy and way cheaper than taking it to the dealer. The quick lube places use cheap oil and cheap filters most of the time and are careless. The dealer will rip you off. And no, you wont void your warranty if you do it yourself. Here is how:

Personally, I avoid "quick lube" places like the plague. I've heard too many horror stories. I always take my cars to a trusted independent full service mechanic. The dealership is a good choice too. It costs a few bucks more, but its worth it to avoid the risks.

Why would you take your second largest investment to a high-school dropout to have the oil changed?

Get it done properly at Honda Dealer!

If you want to keep your warranty you will need to go to an approved honda garage.

Have it done anywhere you like, just keep your receipts.
