Transmission most likely ISN'T Slipping.

I'd bet money you have a bad steering wheel angle sensor. When that goes bad the traction control system thinks the car isn't going in the intended direction and it cuts engine power and applies brakes to bring the car back into control. GM has had lots of problems with this sensor.

But FIRST get the codes read in the computer before you start replacing parts.. That'll point you in the right direction.

Your clutch or automatic transmission is slipping. The traction light comes on when the wheel speed no longer matches the engine speed. Take it to a mechanic to get it checked.

Needs a tune up by a mechanic

69 isn't a bad speed.
