I forgot to fill up my moped with oil and it was running on no oil, I was coming to a stop and turned the key to switch

It seized You may have scored the bore or damaged the bearings. It's not running perfectly or the things you describe would not be happening.

It would have helped if you had given the brand and type of moped that you have. Since you are in the UK, and there are various brands and types sold there it would have helped.

For example most are two-stroke where you add the oil to the gas or buy pre-mixed petrol/oil from a special pump. Others use regular petrol, but you have to fill a bottle on the moped with oil which mixes the oil and petrol. There may also be four-stroke mopeds where you just use petrol and add motor oil to the sump. There is a big difference in the three types of moped engines.

and then the back wheel locked and engine stopped spinning when i tried to turn it back on, thats when i realised i had no oil, Filled it up to almost full oil and waited a bit then tried to start it and it was jolting a bit but finally started with electric start (Works pefect with kick start) But as soon as i come to a stop the engine will cut out again. If i start it on the full stand then take it off the stand it will cut out again. Can anyone explain to me what has happened and how much roughly it would cost to fix? Thanks

Got money for a new engine?
