I dropped a few drops of water in this area, will it rust(pics included)?

It's likely weather gets to this area. Even though it appears to be inside the sealed area, I'm sure water still finds its way into that area.

Now: I'm no "CarGuy" but I'd think the pin is probably made of low carbon steel, or even Stainless Steel (NO carbon). It's the carbon that reacts with oxygen (present in water) that causes rust. If I'm right you will probably never have any rust issues with the latch pin. And as it appears the way it's installed you probably don't have to worry about water penetrating behind the latch pin either.

In short, and others have said this too, you probably don't have anything to worry about. But if you want to ensure a "No Rust" guarantee, apply a light coat of grease to the pin. HOWEVER: Remember that you can get grease on your clothing as you get in and out of the car.

Hope this helps.

Here I want to inform you that at that area a rubber protection should be there. Although there is no any protection and as you say that you dropped only few water then it will be OK and no such major trouble will be evolved if you dried that place after dropped the water. However if you do not satisfied then contact your local car experts as like I used to ask to Tiremania Auto Repair our local auto repair shop through their site tiremania.net.

No it won't

lol is this a joke... salt would cause it to rust haha, honeslty a few drops of water will not hurt you.... it will evaporate. vehicles rust cause of salt on the roads and many other things. im sure your fine.

Yes, to prevent rub with salt

No it shouldnt rust

If the paintwork is not scratched then it should be ok.

I was washing the area on top to apply touch up paint but a few drops of water got into the door mechanism which is made from steel(circled shown) I think(Not sure) please correct me if I am wrong. I quickly wiped it off and there was a tight gap but I think I wiped it off as it was quite hard to reach where I need to use a side of the tissue to reach it.
