Preparation is important. There is a lot of crap on wheels and they should get a thorough hand sanding of every nook and cranny to get paint to stick. Rustoleum may not be tough enough for wheels. If its chipping off, you are going to have to sand off every little bit of it. Repainting over that will just keep falling off.

Nice truck. If you actually want black rims, I'd go ahead and invest in brand black rims. I don't think painting aluminum rims is going to work out. Best of luck!

it looks like you sanded nothing. you need to sand the clear coat completely off for it to stay on. go on youube and see how some of them do it

improper preparation

So last weekend I wanted to change the look of my truck. I bought 6 bottles of paint. 3 bottles of black rustoleum paint and primer in one and 3 bottles of black finish. I got a little over spray but I got a lot of complements. I love it. It stops rust. I'm planning to put fender plates over the painted rust.I let the paint dry for 48 hrs. Looks great. This picture is after I washed my truck. The paint on the body and rust holds up great! Its just on my rims it's mainly on the egdes. It bubbleda little. When I took the hose to it a little of the paint fell off the rim and some faded. What should I do. Black touch up paint? My dad stayed paint doesn't stick to aluminum as well as metal. Should I repaint my rims? Should I paint it and then prime it? How can I stop the paint on my rims from peeling and chipping off?
