If we press the clutch for sometime while driving but not the accelerator does it still leads to wear and tear of clutch

There's small wear and tear on the clutch plates, flywheel and throwout bearing every time you use the clutch. Shouldn't be a major factor to release the clutch while you are moving - - - unless you were at some ridiculous RPM where a competition clutch would be a precaution against centrifugal force disintegrating it.

Yes, defiantly does tear. Don't press the clutch while the car is moving unless you wanna release it very fast. Just like the way we do it normally.

Avoid the following to extend the life of your clutch.

- Select the right gear before you take a corner. Take the corner while you are not pressing the clutch. Some people got the habit of pressing the clutch while taking the corner. That habit wears your clutch very fast.

- Don't press the clutch after realising that the traffic light ahead is red or you got to stop for something. Instead apply the brakes in a soft way until you reach the point of stopping, then that is when you got to press the clutch. Some people got the habit of pressing the clutch before even they stop. That habit wears the clutch very first.

- Always use the right gear for the right rpm. Am terrible in explanation but I think I got it tried. Success

The clutch disc and pressure plate will not wear if you hold the pedal down but the throw out bearing will. It is not made to be running all the time and will dry of internal grease before its time which will cause you to replace the clutch before its time because no one is going to just do the throw out bearing without the clutch.

Not anymore than normal. Now if you rest your foot on the clutch pedal while driving that can lead to premature wear.
