If i have a 350 how much horsepower will a 383 stroker kit add to it?

i am wanting to buy a 350 engine for a 2008 chevy silverado and add a 383 stroker kit to it later. how much horsepower will the stroker kit add to it?

A much smarter thing to do is just get a prebuilt 383 crate engine, or an engine a speed shop builds for you. It is will be perfect, it will be fast, they will tell you the exact horsepower it makes.

There is such a shop in my state.......................big al's toy box

Your local Chevrolet Dealership already has a ZZ-383 which now has 450 hp. with a warranty!

if you use the same cam you have now, it will add roughly 40-50 lb./ft of torque and make roughly the same HP approximately 1,000 sooner than it does now. BUT.....Using the same cam may not be an option, as 383's occasionally have the rod bolt heads interfering with the camshaft lobes and you'd need a small base circle cam to get around that. You'll want a 383 kit with 6" con rods to alleviate some thrust side skirt loading and give a more favorable rod-to-stroke ratio.

Really, the cam and heads make the horsepower, the 383 kit will just bring the peak HP point down in the RPM range and add torque.
