Real cobalt bits should make short work of those broken grade 8 bolts. Buy a good quality left-hand bit and extractor set, and use a variable speed drill. Can't drill hardened steel fast, you want around 100 rpm in reverse. L/H bit, remember? Smallest bit that will chuck in your drill, use as pilot hole.Keep bit lubed w/ pen. oil. Work your way up thru larger sized bits, bolt shank may end up turning out w/drill bit. If not, tap in extractor w/ small hammer and remove w/ wrench. Good luck.

Weld a washer to the broken bolt. Then weld a nut to the washer and turn it out. Break an easy out off, you will have a REAL problem

well if you got a welder.... you could weld another bolt/nut on the broken studs and just turn that darn thing out of there!.... or as most people do drill and tap it out... there is attractor kits.. i always tend to try a hammer and screwdriver approach if its too deep to get anything on it. if they broke on there own then they should turn out easly with noo pressure on them now... but if you broke them by trying to take them out then that's a whole different story hahahaha. always use some type of wd-40 or pb blaster also it helps to loosen them. seriously most people think it will be soo hard cause there torqued in... but when you releave that pressure cause it broke it should be easy to remove just make sure you tap it with your hammer to spin it, don't tap straight down like ur trying to hammer it through the block hahaha i believe you can do it shouldn't be too hard unless you broke them while trying to get them out....

Get some better bits and drill it. Find a tool called easy outs and use that to get them out. Be careful not to mess up the threads while drilling.

I just need some extra insight on my Jeep which has left me stumped and dumbfounded. What happened was, my bolts that bolt my motor mount to my engine block, (3 of them) happened to find a way to break off at the heads and completely let go of my mount. The frustrating part about it is, the bolts aren't sticking out any, they are actually recessed into the block. I've tried drilling a hole into the center of the bolts to extract them, but wouldn't make a mark and broke 4 cobalt bits. Any other suggestions besides welding the mount back to my block
