Bad throw out bearing?

Yeap sounds like a clutch issue. When you pull the transmission replace the clutch with a whole kit. ALso have the flywheel refaced or replaced. Also a great time to change the rear main seal on the engine, and output and front pump seals in the transmission.

Thank you guys for your input I appreciate it going to be tearing it Apart guess I'll see what happens when I get in there I don't have much experience with trannys besides swapping them out but I don't mind trial and error because like u said then I'll now when I'm done probably just gonna get the clutch kit it would be stupid to just replace the one thing when either way the other stuffs going to have to be replaced down the road soon anyways

Oh yes just remove your transmission and spend the absolute least amount of money you can by just replacing the throw out bearing, this way when you put it all back together you can spend another day or two as you most likely have no idea what your doing removing your transmission again because it wasn't the throw out bearing after all. then you can go on the cheap again and just replace the friction disk, and once you put it all back together again you find out it was the pressure plate, so you get to take it all apart again to replace that, By this time you'll be a pro at removing and installing your transmission and may have figured out it would have been a lot cheaper and labor intense to have just bought and installed a clutch kit which includes throw out bearing, friction disk, pressure plate and pilot bearing and done it right the first time, At least that's how the pros do it, rather than the morons that have heard from 3 or 4 people that are as dumb as they are,

Check your clutch master cylinder, sounds like you lost the slave cylinder and now the hydraulic line is full of air.

A throwout bearing will rattle and squeak until you push the clutch down and then quiet down until clutch release.

No, your clutch is fried.

Sounds like the clutch and pressure plate is toast. If it were the throw out bearing it would just make horrible noises, but the truck would still go. But before you take it apart, make sure it isn't what rolomatic said.

OK so for the last 2 or 3 days when I go to drive my truck it doesn't want to go forward I have to reverse first then forward but it like pops almost then it smells like burnt clutch. Ok well I came to a stop the other day put it in first started driving went to shift into second still driving then all of uh sudden nothing no noise or anything it wouldn't drive it stayed running i had to pull over now when I put it in gear and let off the clutch it doesn't stall or move in any gear was told its most likely a throw out bearing by 3 or 4 different people just trying to get a few opinions here the truck in question is a 97 ford ranger xlt 138000 miles on her just replaced front pass 4x4 axle shaft..
