A minor fender bender with no apparent damage? Call the Police?

There is no need to call the police for such a minor accident. Most states/counties/cities have laws that way you do not have to report a non-injury accident that results in damage under a certain $$$ amount. Anything over that amount and certainly any injury accident must be reported.

Even then you don't necessarily have to call the police and have them come out. All police departments allow you to call in to file a report. Some have online reporting systems. ALL reports must happen within a set number of hours, usually less than a day or two.

It is important that you report the accident. What if this girl claims an injury or major damage on her car?

I agree, there is no such thing as parking too far forward at a gas station. You were parked, she was moving. It was her responsibility not to hit a parked car. If the space was too tight to get by she should have waited or gone another way.

Wow you are a easy going person. If she had said that to me i would have given her a example of her own stupidity.your were parked. She hit you.But no lose. in realty you just letting it go was not a wrong reaction.I envy you. I would have been unable to let it go.

Police wouldn't respond to such a minor bump anyway. If there was no damage to your car, then just ignore it and get on with your life.

And yes... It's entirely HER fault. Your car was parked. It was HER responsibility to avoid hitting your car.

If you were absolutely sure there was no damage just leave like you did. I sure would have screamed at her though.

Yes, you should have gotten her information. Even if there is no visible damage, there may still be hidden damage behind the bumper ( assuming that is the part of your car she hit ).

BTW, you did not park "too far forward". This person hit a stationary car. She was driving either too fast and/or not paying attention to her surroundings.

I was filling up at a gas station when this girl pulled up in front of me really fast and bumped my car, shaking it. As she got out of her car, I reacted "Seriously?" Her first reaction was to accuse me of parking too far forward. There was no apparent damage so I just left. My question is, what should I have done? Should I have asked for her insurance information and obtained the gas station video footage as proof? Can she refuse and should I have called the police? God forbid something like this happens again.. but I want to know what I should do?
